A 2003 M·A·C Cosmetics “Deck of Cards,” featuring a design contribution by Todd Oldham as part of a larger collaborative artist project developed in partnership with Assouline.
The project brought together a range of designers, musicians, and artists, each creating original compositions that were translated into body-painted imagery and photographed by Richard Lohr. The resulting works were reproduced as a full deck of oversized playing cards, combining fashion, performance, and photographic art into a single format.
This deck was launched at the Gagosian Gallery during New York Fashion Week, where the oversized cards were first presented publicly. Following its debut, the project received national attention for its distinctive and provocative visual approach.
Proceeds from the release supported the M·A·C AIDS Fund, adding a philanthropic dimension to the work and situating the project within a broader cultural and social context.
