Visionaire No. 3: Erotica is an early and highly collectible issue of the influential art and fashion publication founded by Stephen Gan, Cecilia Dean, and James Kaliardos. Released in fall 1991, the issue explores the theme of Erotica through contributions from artists and photographers including Jean-Paul Goude, Mats Gustafson, Bill Cunningham, Steven Meisel, Ruben Toledo, Antonio Lopez, Maison Martin Margiela, and Lady Bunny.

The concept for the issue emerged after Jean-Paul Goude shared a series of intimate sketchbook drawings, alongside early male nude studies by Mats Gustafson. Reflecting the raw spirit of the project, the publication is presented in a brown corrugated box sleeve secured with a black elastic band, intentionally referencing the plain packaging once used to mail discreet adult magazines. The interior credits are typed on an old typewriter, reinforcing the handmade character of the piece.

Visionaire No. 3 remains a significant artifact of early 1990s fashion, photography, and independent publishing.
